Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 11, 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Scatter Cards (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Description of the Service
Scatter Cards is a flashcard study site. Flashcard content is organized into topics and is periodically added to or refreshed. If you sign in, you can save individual flashcards to a personal "Mine" collection that persists independently of the main content library.
2. Accounts & Sign-In
Signing in uses federated authentication (currently Google). By signing in, you authorize us to receive basic profile information from that provider (name, email address, profile picture) to create and identify your account. You're responsible for keeping access to your linked account secure. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we store and how it's used.
3. Your Saved Content
Cards you save to "Mine" are stored under your account and are yours to keep, remove, or export at your discretion using the controls in the app. We don't claim ownership over your selection of saved cards, but the underlying flashcard content itself (front/back text, sourced references, etc.) remains subject to Section 5 below.
4. Acceptable Use
- Don't attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.
- Don't scrape or bulk-extract content in a way that degrades the Service for others.
- Don't use the Service to store or transmit unlawful content.
- Don't misrepresent your identity when signing in.
5. Content & Intellectual Property
Flashcard content, the Scatter Cards name, and the logo mark are provided as part of the Service. Where a card cites an external source (e.g. a reference link), that source's own rights apply to the underlying material. We make no claim over publicly known facts, quotations, or vocabulary presented for educational purposes.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Flashcard content — including anything generated with AI assistance — may contain errors or become outdated; we don't warrant its accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose (including exam preparation or professional use).
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
8. Changes to the Service or These Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, and may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date above.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for anyone who violates these Terms. You may stop using the Service, and request deletion of your account and associated saved cards, at any time — see the Contact section below.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the operator's jurisdiction of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer protection law provides otherwise.
